Grainger Games was established in 1997 as a small stall in the Grainger Arcade, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. Grainger Arcade The company started out by buying and selling pre-owned computer and console games. Demand soon grew and the company developed.
The company had grown to such and extent that it became incorporated as Grainger Games Ltd. As a result of this a larger store was opened in Newcastle with further stores in Whitley Bay and Jarrow
As the company continued to expand, more stores were opened. By 2005 the company moved to a purpose built office and warehouse complex in Benton. By this time there were 9 stores open across the North-East
2006 saw further expansion when Grainger Games opened two stores in Scotland and one in Berwick. A year later saw stores open in Durham and South Shields.
In 2008 Grainger Games reach expanded even further with stores opening in Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Bishop Auckland.
2009 saw 8 more shops open with Grainger Games' most ambitious expansion at the time, Hull, opening its doors in August.
2010 has seen 20 stores opening with the Grainger network expanding even more to include Yorkshire, Lancashire and Merseyside, with our impressive Liverpool Lord Street store opening at Midnight 1st October for the launch of FIFA 11.
In February 2011 Grainger Games opened it's 50th store in Salford, this continued our expansion as the Grainger name spreads around the country
This was followed by the opening of another 14 store by the end of May 2011, including Nottingham, Derby and Blackpool.
